The Big East and the Big 12 have announced a 4-year conference series between them that will start next year with 4 games already having been set.
Providence – Texas
Villanova – Kansas
Creighton – Oklahoma
Marquette – Kansas State
The home games will be split 5 & 5 between the two conferences and will go a long way in strengthening both conferences out-of-conference strength of schedules.
The Friars are looking to get a head-start on the conference series by traveling down to Texas this year on Friday, November 9th to take on the Longhorns in night game at 9 PM.
The last time the Friars played against a team from the Big 12, they lost to Baylor 79-68 in the Quarterfinals of the NIT in the 2012-2013 season.
If the Big East winning 2 of the last 3 National Championships still hasn’t let people know that the Big East is for real and a Top-5 conference in college basketball, then this should help get them there when the romp the Big 12 head-to-head.
