Providence College Hockey’s Senior Captain Brian Pinho from North Andover, Mass. has signed a two-year entry level contract with the Washington Capitals of the NHL. Pinho was drafted by the Capitals in the 2013 NHL Draft with the 174th overall selection. The Caps held his rights until August 15th of this year and if they had not signed Pinho, he would have become an unrestricted free agent.
The Washington Capitals have signed forward Brian Pinho to a two-year entry-level contract beginning this season. @bpins_26‘s contract will carry an AAV of $833,750 and he will report to the Capitals today.

The two-year deal carries and annual contract of $833,750. Not bad for your first job out of college if you ask me.
During Pinho’s Senior campaign, he scored 12 goals and recorded 20 assists, good for 32 total points. Pinho’s 156 career games are tied with Ross Mauermann for the most all-time in program history.
Pinho also won the Hockey East’s Best Defensive Forward Award and the Frank Jones Award for the Best Defensive Forward in all of New England.
