A.J. Reeves, who will be joining the Providence Friars next year as a member of the 2018 class, was the Massachusetts Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year this past week.
Reeves became the all-time leading scorer at Brimmer and May, scoring 1,928 over his 4 years there and cementing his legacy as the greatest player in the school’s history.
The Future Friar averaged 27.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 5.2 apg, and 2.1 spg over his Senior year campaign. Reeves recorded 30 or more points 8 times on the season.
Maybe even better than his play on the court, Reeves has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach and has maintained a B average in the classroom, per the Boston Herald.
Former Massachusetts Gatorade Players of the Year include Pat Connaughton (Notre Dame) and Nate Lubick (Georgetown).
I can’t wait for this sharpshooter to get to PC next season and take the Friars from the Drive for Five to the Fix for Six.
