The final 8 schools include Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Providence, Ohio State, Xavier, and Virginia
Locke has been an Ed Cooley target for quite some time now and would sure as hell make a great addition to A.J. Reeves in the Friars 2018 class. The two together would make Providence absolutely lethal from outside. Both guys are dynamic shooters who can create shots on their own.
Locke, the 6’2” point guard from Owings Mills, Maryland plays for McDonogh School and Team Melo in the AAU circuit. The Friars have been in on Locke since 2016 and made an offer early on in his recruitment process. He’s since shot up the rankings and other teams radars once everyone else caught on to what PC already knew about the kid. They’ve had Locke on campus and have done a home visit as well. The Friars have made Locke a priority and he’s seemed to have recognized that they have done so as well.
Friarbasketball.com did a great in depth look at Lock in early July that you can read here.
A really good quote from Locke on PC:
“I really like [Providence]. I like their coaching staff. They stay in contact with me. They really make it known that they want me to come there. They seemed like a family when I went on a visit.”
Now who wants to see some highlights of Locke?
How about a little bit of Lil Uzi Vert for a highlight reel…
Some first impressions of Locke: His shot is so fucking pretty. He’s one of those shooters where every single time he lets it go, you thinking it’s going in. His game reminds me a lot of Eric Gordon coming out of high school and in his one year at Indiana. It doesn’t hurt that Gordon wore 23 in high school and has worn 10 afterwards which are Locke’s high school and AAU numbers. The shot form looks very similar in my opinion. Noah’s go-to move seems to be the one-dribble pull-up and it looks fucking money every time he uses it. He looks especially adept at taking his defender off the dribble and making the correct decision to pass, shoot, or take it all the way to the rim. Locke would fit in perfectly at PC…perfectly. Not only as a player, but a perfect culture fit as well. I think our team motto suits him to a T.
We. Us. Together. Family. Friars.
