After recently announcing that he would, “pursue other opportunities,” Dajour Dickens, the former Providence College big man, will transfer to Old Dominion for this upcoming basketball season. All indications are that ODU will try to receive a waiver for Dickens to be able to play this season.

Dickens was an Old Dominion recruiting target coming out of High School, with the campus only being about 20 minutes away from Dickens’ hometown of Hampton, Virginia. Dajour was ranked as the 124th ranked prospect in the 2017 class by the 247Sports Composite and the 13th ranked Center prospect. Dickens committed to Providence very early in the recruiting process, verbally committing to the Friars in February of 2016, before eventually signing his NIL in September 2017, almost a year and a half after his initial commitment.
The Old Dominion Monarchs recently signed another 7-footer, Elbert Robinson, a graduate transfer out of LSU.
The Monarchs finished 2nd in Conference USA last season with a 25-7 record overall, including 15-3 in conference.
