The Curt Gowdy Media Award is named after the late Curt Gowdy, a storied sports broadcaster. The award is presented each year to members of the electronic and print media who have made a significant contribution to the game of basketball.
Doris will be acknowledged for her contributions to basketball media during the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement events Sept. 6-8 in Springfield, Massachusetts.
The Milwaukee Bucks gave some tasty congratulatory treats to Doris during her broadcast of their game after she was announced as the Award Winner.

Some nice words about Doris from Warriors Coach Steve Kerr as well. This isn’t even from her winning the award, he’s just talking about what an inspiration Doris is to him and he should know better than most having worked in broadcasting for 8 years before taking the Golden State head coaching job.
