Game Recap: PC with a HUGE win over #20 Creighton in Providence

Providence Friars 81 (13-5)#20 Creighton Bluejays 68 (15-3)
I don’t have a ton to say about this game since I wasn’t able to watch it because I was at the atrociousness that was the UConn/Louisville game.  BUT, I will say that this is a GIGANTIC win for the Friars.
Providence finally has a signature win against a ranked opponent on their resume and can use that to build to a potential NCAA tournament bid in the future.  They sit currently with an RPI rank of #46 (not bad) and have 13 more games, plus the Big East tournament to get to the magical 20 win mark.  I’ll project right now that they could potentially lose to Creighton at Creighton and Nova, which leaves 11 games to go 7-4 and get to 20 wins.  That’s not that far out of the realm of possibilities for the Friars but their lack of depth may show even more at the end of the season that it does now.
There were allegedly 8 NBA teams with scouts at the game who came to get a look at All-American Doug McDermott.  Instead, they took home a glimpse of the most underrated player in the nation, Bryce Cotton, who led all scorers with 23 points, to go along with 6 assists in the Friars shellacking of the Bluejays.
Next Up: Tuesday Night, 9:00 PM, vs. Butler at the Dunk.
