The Orlando Magic have waived forward Justin Minaya following the signing of guard Johnell Davis to an Exhibit 10 contract. Minaya had joined the Magic just a month earlier on September 2, also on an Exhibit 10 deal.
Minaya has appeared in 57 NBA games over three seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers but struggled to carve out a consistent role, averaging 1.7 points and 10 mins per game. His lone career start came during the 2023–24 season.
In the G-League, Minaya has shown more promise, posting averages of 11.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game across stints with the Rip City Remix (Portland’s affiliate) and the Mexico City Capitanes. Now waived, he is eligible to earn a bonus of up to $85,300 if he remains with the Osceola Magic (Orlando’s G-League affiliate) for at least 60 days.
How sick did Minaya look in these new uniforms though…

I was hoping that their G-League affiliate would at the very least have he same fits as the NBA squad, but these things are gross…and don’t even get me started on who’s wearing the threads. Sorry Mac, even though you didn’t play for Cooley, you are now officially tied to him for the foreseeable future. That’s just how it works.
