New Orleans Pelicans Bring Back Josh Oduro on Training Camp Contract

The New Orleans Pelicans are bringing back former Providence Friar Josh Oduro on a training camp contract, per Keith Smith.

The contract will be an Exhibit 10 deal and Oduro will join the current team that is gearing up for preseason games that began this week.

Oduro was signed and waived by the Pelicans during last season’s training camp, eventually playing his rookie season with their G-League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron. Oduro was also just a part of the Charlotte Hornets’ summer league championship this past July.

Pelicans bring Oduro back to the Squadron after playing his rookie season with them last year. He also won a summer league championship with Charlotte Hornets over the summer. Oduro played 44 games last season for the Squadron, averaging 11.4 ppg, 8.2 rpg, 2.8 apg, and 1.1 bpg over 29.4 minutes per game.

More than likely, Oduro will eventually be waived at some point in the near future and join the Squadron once again. He’ll be eligible for a bonus worth up to $85,300 if he stays with the club for at least 60 days.

I just wanted to post this little highlight real so people remember what Oduro can do against top competition.
