Andrew Fonts announced that he will be returning for a 5th year with the Providence Friars and thus the three-headed monster of Watson/Horchler/Fonts will lead us into the next season, searching for a Big East Championship and more.
The one thing that I didn’t realize until now for some reason is that the Friars are going to be potentially sporting a Death Lineup of the Fonts Brothers next year with Andrew’s brother Luke Fonts headed to Friartown next season. That’s reason enough for Drew to take one last lap around the Dunk. To be given a chance to usher the new Fonts era into existence is something that cannot be passed up and he can get his MBA as well.
Fonts was also just recently one of 31 PC student-athletes inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, where each Honoree must have a GPA of 3.4 or higher. Fonts was also a 2x winner of the Thomas Ramos Academic Award for the Men’s Basketball Team.
Not only has Ed Cooley referred to Fonts as an ‘energizer’ for the team but dude is a flat out hype machine. He shows more energy on the bench than some of the players that are actually in the game.
