The 2016-2017 Big East All-Academic Teams were named this past week and four players on last year’s Men’s Basketball team took home honors for this year.  Kyron Cartwright, Tommy Planek, Casey Woodring, and Ricky Council II were the four players who earned All-Academic honors for their performance in the classroom.

Across all sports, Providence had 199 student athletes named to the conference all-academic teams.  You can check out the complete list here.

To be eligible for an all-academic selection, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.

Congrats to the 4 members for 2016-2017!
