Following the culmination of an extremely successful collegiate career between George Mason and Providence College where he finished with 1,913 points and 976 rebounds, Josh Oduro will be joining the New Orleans Pelicans team in the NBA Summer League come July. Oduro had worked out with a number of teams leading up to this year’s draft, including the likes of the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Utah Jazz, Charlotte Hornets, Brooklyn Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, and Memphis Grizzlies , so it only makes sense that he joins the Summer League with a completely different team. No matter what team it happened to be, let it be clear that Josh Oduro is going to do work when given the opportunity.
Oduro showed that he could dominate the likes of some of the best defensive centers in college basketball including the #7 pick Donovan Clingan of the NCAA Champion UConn Huskies and the 2x Big East Defensive Player of the Year Ryan Kalkbrenner of Creighton. His game translates perfectly to today’s NBA with the ability to guard, pass, and stretch the opposing defense, so I expect him to perform well in the upcoming Summer League slate.
Kim English, who was also named the Godfather of Josh’s first born son this past year, had the following to say about the talented big…
I can’t decide who the better man is, Josh Oduro or Kim English. Why not both??
I am going to be following along with every Summer League Pelicans game and rooting for Josh Oduro as hard as possible to succeed because there isn’t a guy who deserves it more than he does.
