I know, whether it’s the NBA or the NFL, agreeing to a Green Room invitation on the night of the draft if you’re not a projected, say, top five draft pick, can be a bit of a gamble depending how trades and other things play out.
But, I think Devin Carter has cemented himself as a Top 15 draft pick for thee 2024 NBA Draft based on the reports that have come out from NBA scouts and teams regarding his unbelievable showing at the Draft Combine.
There have been reports that Carter has gotten a promise from a team in the lottery that they will pick him if he does in fact fall to them in the draft. I’ve seen conflicting reports of that promise coming from the Kings, Jazz, Bulls, and Spurs, so who knows if its an actual thing or just a savvy move to get teams to consider picking him earlier before another team snatches him up.
Either way, I’m super curious to see who Carter is going to have at his table in the Green Room if he decides to attend…and why wouldn’t he?
I’m not going to lie, I kind of love when players come down from the stands as later picks who weren’t invited to the Green Room (in the same draft)…like my guy Ben Bentil.
Devin Carter, Kim English, and the Providence Friars are all going to benefit from Carter being in-person at the Draft, being selected, and then giving real time interviews. I’m not sure which team will pick him, but I am sure that they’re not going to be disappointed with what he eventually brings to that team.
