Former Friar Isaiah Jackson Named Head Basketball Coach of Ridgeview High School

Former Providence Friar Isaiah Jackson announced that he has officially been named the Head Basketball Coach of the Ridgeview High School Panthers. Ridgeview High School is located in Orange Park, FL

Jackson graduated from The Villages Charter High School in The Villages, FL in 2014, where during his Senior season, he led the team to a 25-3 record while averaging 17 ppg, 9 rpg, & 6 apg. After playing at George Mason University for his Freshman season, Jackson transferred to Providence College where he sat out for a season per NCAA rules before playing for 3 seasons, making 3 NCAA tournaments, and finishing his collegiate career as a 1,000 point scorer (1,041), to go along with 506 rebounds, 199 assists, and 112 steals. Jackson made himself into a Friartown favorite with his ability to do a little bit of everything and do all of it well. If there was a word to describe a player that’s a glue guy but slightly better overall than what a typical glue guy is, that would be Jackson. Maybe, like a Glue Guy Plus.

Here’s my personal favorite Isaiah Jackson moment from his time at PC…

Jackson started his professional basketball career in France for the ’20-’21 season before heading back stateside following COVID to play for the Albany Patroons of TBL (The Basketball League) for the ’22 season. Over 17 games in the 2022 season, Jackson averaged 16.3 ppg, 8.9 rpg, 2.1 apg, & 1.1 spg while helping the team reach the TBL Finals where they came up short in a 3-game series against the eventual Champions, the Shreveport Mavericks.

Following the 2022 season, Jackson decided to take his career from playing to coaching, becoming an assistant coach for the U14 AAU team, Tre Mann Elite, and helping them to achieve a Top-10 AAU ranking in the country. His success as an assistant for the AAU Team who is based in Central Florida must have made an impression on Ridgeview Athletics as they have officially named him their Head Coach for the upcoming basketball season.

I’ll be checking in on the team throughout the Fall and I think I can speak for all of Friartown when I say that we’re rooting for Isaiah.
