Per usual, some of my pre-season picks were a little off. There were a few players who didn’t do as well as I thought they would this season, like Justin Moore, and others who were just the unfortunate victim of an injury, like Bryce Hopkins. The biggest surprises of the season were some of the guys that took a much bigger leap than I expected, like Tristen Newton & Devin Carter. For the most part, my pre-season picks were actually better than usual. The impact of incoming transfers is the hardest thing to judge before the season because the level of play from the conference they’re coming from could take some time to adjust to and it’s difficult to read how a new team is going to implement a player compared to the role they filled on their previous squad.
Without further ado, here are my selections for the All-Big East Teams for 2023-2024.

Now, onto the individual awards. I listed my 2nd and 3rd options to let you know where your particular favorite player landed, because I must hate them.
Player of the Year: Devin Carter (Providence); 2nd Baylor Scheierman (Creighton); 3rd Tristen Newton (UConn)

Most Improved Player: Dre Davis (Seton Hall); 2nd Desmond Claude (Xavier); 3rd Tristen Newton (UConn)
6th Man of the Year: Hassan Diarra (UConn)…He’s really the only one to pick here because UConn had so many blowouts so their 2nd unit got much more time than other teams and because they’re so insanely deep.
