Utah Jazz Fully Guarantee Kris Dunn’s Contract for the 2023-2024 Season

Over this past weekend, the Utah Jazz officially fully guaranteed Kris Dunn’s contract for the upcoming 2023-2024 NBA season. Although it wasn’t unexpected, it’s still great to hear that the team has full confidence in Dunn as a point guard for their team. Since signing a 10-day contract with the Jazz last season, Dunn has played exceptionally well having seemingly ‘fixed’ the only facet of his game that was holding teams back from obtaining his services, his three-point shot.

Dunn’s contract is worth $2.5 million ($2,586,665 to be exact) and he will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Over 22 games at the end of last season once Dunn joined the Jazz, he averaged 13.2 ppg, 5.6 apg, 4.5 rpg and 1.1 spg on 53.7%/47.2%/77.4% shooting (25.8 MPG) with a 3.5:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Continually, through five pre-season games (15.2 MPG), Dunn averaged 8.0 ppg, 2.8 apg and 1.6 spg, while shooting an insane 18/21 (85.7%) from the floor.

With his stifling defense that has never been in question and his playmaking ability as a ball handler and facilitator, this is the perfect opportunity for Kris to take advantage of this season and hopefully turn it into a multi-year deal after a successful season out West.
