Oswin Erhunmwunse Officially Reclassifies to the 2024 Class and Arrives on Campus

As has been long suspected and rumored, Providence College commit Oswin Erhunmwunse has officially reclassified from the 2025 class to the 2024 class, following his commitment announcement in January. In doing so, Oswin has joined Ryan Mela and Anton Bonke in this season’s Freshman class in Providence. Following his reclassification, five-star commit Jamier Jones remains as the only PC commit in the 2025 class.

The day after announcing his reclassification, Oswin arrived on campus, ready to get to work for the upcoming season.

I’m not sure if I’m going to call him Big O just because I feel like Oscar Robertson is the only Big O that should be referred to as such.

Just for the folks playing along at home, Kim English replaced Rafael Castro with Christ Essandoko, Anton Bonke, and Oswin. So we have multiple bigs with various types of playing styles that can be mixed and matched based on the lineups that the team is going up against. Oswin did not reclassify to redshirt and is fully expected to get some run with next year’s squad, initially helping Bryce Hopkins ease back into full contact basketball and then I’m fully expecting him to earn himself more minutes as the year goes on, just based on his high-level skill set and work ethic.

In case you were wondering about Oswin’s rankings as of today: “Erhunmwunse, a consensus four-star recruit, is the 23rd ranked player in the nation and the No. 1 center according to Rivals.com.  He also is ranked 31st (second in his position) by ESPN.com and 39th (third in his position) by 247Sports.  He played AAU basketball for the BABC and Team New England on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.”

I’m psyched to see some clips come out from team practices and am fully hyped for Oswin to have boots on the ground in Friartown.
